Forest School

Forest School is an inspirational process, that offers ALL learners regular opportunities to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in a woodland or natural environment with trees. At Rosemellin Forest School sessions take place either in the nature area or off-site at Tehidy Woods.

Forest School sessions provide diverse opportunities for children to benefit from a supportive curriculum that can help children build positive values and attitudes about themselves, about learning and the environment in which they live. Children are given appropriately challenging and achievable tasks that build their confidence, skills and independence and are given the time to thoroughly explore their thoughts, feelings and relationships. This time and reflective practice develops inter- and intra-personal skills. It also develops children’s resilience, which benefits them in all areas of their learning.

Activities include cooking in the outdoors, fire making, den building, team building activities, conservation of our nature area and nature art.
